Job Description:

As the Head of Software Development, you will lead all engineering activities, creating the right environment for sustainable team productivity and directly reporting to the C-level team. Do you want to take a key technical leadership role in ContentWise? Join our engineering team in Milan. Our product is growing at more than 10% month over month and is used in over 30 countries around the world.

Responsibilities:

  • Build, lead and manage the ContentWise engineering team, developing both leadership and technical capabilities of team members.
  • Organize team structure to achieve strategic business priorities.
  • Partner with Product Management to translate product vision into deliverable roadmaps.
  • Work with teams and technical leads to champion the use of new technologies that better solve customer problems.
  • Measure, maintain and improve the operational excellence and quality of our product.
  • Coach teams to improve their work processes and the quality of the product.
  • As we continue to grow, ensure that we maintain a good balance of inter and intra team collaboration
  • Motivate and energize teams, injecting a sense of fun and focus.
  • Attract, hire, develop and retain engineering talent.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience building and leading software engineering teams.
  • Ability to inspire and coach experienced and junior engineers.
  • Strong organizational skills, solid judgment & ability to build teams from ground up.
  • Independent, pragmatic and pro-active work attitude.
  • Background in a technical role in a development organization.
  • Deep experience in cloud technologies and microservices architectures.
  • A learning mindset, with the capacity to grow with our organization and take on ever-increasing challenges.
  • Knowledge of machine learning algorithms, such as recommender systems and supervised/unsupervised learning, is a plus.
  • Effective communication skills with ability to give impactful feedback.
  • Master’s in computer science or equivalent.
  • Fluent English, spoken and written.
