Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer to join our global IT Performance Engineering team. As part of this role, you’ll have the opportunity to transfer to our US offices in Boston or Los Angeles for a period of up to 2 years, working for Moviri’s full breadth of enterprise customers in the United States. As a Performance Engineer, you will work in lean, fast-moving, and highly-empowered consulting and engineering teams to solve substantial business and technical problems related to the performance of IT infrastructure, applications and systems, applying a data-driven analytical mindset and approach. You will be tasked with designing and implementing solutions, technologies and processes in a wide range of scenarios and use cases, such as:

  • Testing, validation and optimization of mission-critical, high-volume online services (e.g. prepare an e-commerce application for “Black Friday” peak traffic loads).
  • Optimizing the current and forecasted costs and performance of highly dynamic hybrid cloud environments.
  • Setting-up full-stack observability and digital user experience management solutions.
  • Automating IT performance tasks and processes with AIOps solutions
  • … and much more!

You will be tasked with exploring and understanding a wide-spectrum of IT contexts spanning from traditional IT architectures to the most innovative cloud-native applications built on Kubernetes, microservices, serverless, and quantum platforms, developed and managed with CD/CI pipelines and DevOps approaches. The Moviri’s team includes some of the foremost authorities in performance engineering. While we do not expect you to be a performance engineering guru from day one, we expect you to possess the solid foundation and intellectual motor to learn relentlessly and produce outstanding results, offering you a path to develop into a recognized performance expert. You will work with best-of-breed enterprise technologies such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Neotys, BMC, Turbonomic, Cloudera, and widely popular open-source and community solutions such as JMeter, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK .

Job Responsibilities:

  • Contribute individually and as a team member in Performance Engineering projects.
  • Lead IT performance analysis activities to improve IT systems efficiency and service resilience.
  • Support customers in the adoption, installation, and initial configuration of Performance Engineering solutions, according to our proven methodology reflecting 20 years of experience in this field.
  • Design, build and validate technology add-ons or upgrades to extend the tools’ capabilities, aligning to customers’ internal processes.
  • Self-manage your time, aligning project managers and colleagues with status updates related to assigned project activities.
  • Effectively communicate with customers and colleagues to describe solution implementations and to proactively propose new ideas.
  • Learn constantly and be open to quickly master new technologies and new performance engineering challenges.
  • Contribute to R&D activity and to commercial offering innovation, by scouting for new emerging technologies and IT trends and developing new solutions to match continuously changing customer needs.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in IT Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Math, Physics
  • Up to 2 years of post-graduation professional experience in software engineering & development, system administration, IT consulting or IT professional services.
  • Foundation of IT architectures
  • Foundation of techniques for data analytics and data engineering (SQL and/or NOSQL)
  • Foundation of software engineering and solid knowledge of at least 1 programming language (Python and Java are preferred)
  • Familiarity with OS system administration is preferred
  • Knowledge of machine learning fundamentals is preferred
  • Eager to expand knowledge of IT performance management best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills 
  • Strive for continuous improvement by going out of comfort zone in hard and soft skills and by applying them in enterprise customers’ contexts
  • Learning and collaborating with colleagues and contributing to the ongoing knowledge base 
  • Goal-driven attitude 
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken 
  • Availability to travel is a strong requirement 
  • No previous professional experience is required
